Gatlinburg/ Retreat Weekend

This past weekend, Karin and I went to a "couples retreat" in Pigeon Forge, TN, with our church, Friendship Baptist. Karin's parents, David and Jane, attended as well, and though the time there didn't seem like it was long enough, we all enjoyed ourselves. Karin and I would have stayed another day if we didn't need to get back to tend to Belle and the puppies. One of the kids in our church was house sitting for us this past weekend (thanks, Nick!)

The theme of the weekend was an old West theme, so we had a photo both with the above theme. Karin and Jane found some little boots and a hat among the table decorations, so we just had to try them out.

During our free time, we went to Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg, TN. We were looking forward to seeing Micah's reactions to the sights there. He is only four+ months old, so I didn't really know what to expect. When he did finally wake up from his nap about half-way through the shark tunnel, I was thrilled to see that he did seem to be enjoying all of the lights and movement in the tanks. Naturally, he payed more attention to the brightly-colored fish in the Coral Reef area.

Yee-haw!
