Baby Micah!
Micah finally arrived at 9:46 P.M. on 10/11. He weighed 7lbs. 8oz., and was 21 inches long! As some of you know, Karin unfortunately had a rough time in labor yesterday. She and I arrived at Huntsville Hospital at 3:15 that morning. Unfortunately, things didn't go as we had planned, and the labor proved to be difficult. At 9 P.M., when we reluctanly came to the decision to allow the doctors to perform a C-section on Karin. I'm happy to report that both mother and baby are doing great! Dad and mom both were so exicited to finally h
ear his cries last night. The first thing that I noticed about Micah was his blonde hair and dark, dark blue eyes. I carried Micah over to Karin, who was still on the operating table, and simply said, "He's beautiful." Karin had tears in her eyes, and I brought the baby down to her face so that she could kiss him. Shortly afterward, the OR nurses swept Micah and me down to the nursery. Fortunately our parents showed up in time to see me give Micah his first bath.

From the moment I touched his skin in the nursery to comfort his crying, I knew that I would never be the same. I've never knew whether I could be one of those people who fell in love with their child from the moment they saw them. I can say that I truly understand that statement now. I truly loved Micah from the moment I laid eyes on him. I loved hearing his gentle cries.

I'll be adding more to this blog in the coming days and weeks. After finishing with Micah, I was able to track down Karin in the OR recovery room at about 12:20 on 10/12. Finally, she was able to see Micah. Then at 2:30 that morning, Karin was finally able to get the rest she deserved.
I'm working on trying to get more pictures of mom and baby loaded onto the computer. Karin is still recovering from the surgery, and we'd appreciate any prayers you could offer on our behalf.
